About the job

As a Product Manager in the Internal Products and Technologies organization, you will partner with Engineering, Design, Growth, Trust & Safety, Support, and Finance to build the billing experiences that every Claude customer uses, from their first purchase to their monthly invoice. Your work will impact everyone who pays for Claude, including individuals upgrading plans, teams adding seats, developers buying credits, and enterprise admins managing budgets. You will define how Claude explains charges, facilitates plan changes, and enables customers to set spend limits, while also ensuring these experiences convert well, resist abuse, and allow customers to resolve billing questions independently.

Responsibilities

  • Understand customer segments and identify billing friction points impacting conversion, trust, or support volume.
  • Partner with Growth on purchase, upgrade, and plan-change flows, balancing conversion with clarity and customer trust.
  • Collaborate with Trust & Safety to prevent abuse of plans and credits without hindering legitimate customers.
  • Design agentic billing experiences where Claude can answer questions, resolve issues, and perform billing actions with appropriate confirmation steps.
  • Work with Engineering and Design to ensure clear and consistent customer experiences for purchasing, upgrading, and managing spend.
  • Drive product strategy and roadmap, synthesize stakeholder needs, and communicate prioritization to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including self-serve purchase, subscription, or billing experiences.
  • Shipped self-serve experiences with ownership of conversion and retention metrics, and experience running experiments.
  • Strong product design instincts to simplify complex billing concepts like proration, overage, or credits.
  • Experience building LLM-powered or agentic product features, with a clear point of view on agent autonomy.
  • Ability to discuss system design with engineers, abuse patterns with Trust & Safety, and funnels with Growth.
  • Comfortable making and explaining tradeoffs between growth, risk, and financial accuracy.
  • Scrappy and resourceful approach to getting things done.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation range: $385,000 - $460,000 USD
  • Visa sponsorship available for some roles and candidates.
