Anthropic is seeking talented and experienced Staff+ Software Engineers to join the Developer Acceleration team within the Developer Productivity organization. This team is responsible for the infrastructure that enables thousands of employees to be productive via agents, directly impacting the velocity and quality of Anthropic's research and engineering development. You will define how AI transforms work and build the future of agentic productivity, owning areas like the Agent Runtime Platform and Knowledge systems for providing context to agents and humans.
Responsibilities
- Define the future of agentic productivity at scale and at the frontier.
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for your area, translating goals into concrete execution.
- Define quality standards for agent-driven engineering work and ensure adherence across the company.
- Build and ship the runtime platform and tooling.
- Construct agent harnesses and experiment with context management strategies to enhance agent performance and correctness.
- Write evaluations to benchmark agent behaviors.
- Collaborate cross-team to deliver impact.
- Own infrastructure scalability and reliability, and establish operational excellence practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience leading large scale, complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead.
- Extensive experience with agents, particularly those performing technical/knowledge work.
- Obsession with productivity and transforming how work is done.
- Experience building scalable platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to support internal partners.
- Experience with container or VM orchestration at scale.
- Experience working with researchers and engineers.
- Developer productivity or infrastructure experience (e.g., CI/CD, builds).
- Experience building widely adopted CLI tools and services.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $405,000 - $485,000 USD
