Anthropic is seeking a National Security Partnerships Lead to cultivate and manage relationships with U.S. Intelligence Community entities and allied intelligence and security services. This role reports to the Head of National Security Policy and will provide guidance to company leadership on intelligence and partner matters. You will assist partner security organizations in developing policies for the rapid and safe adoption of frontier AI for high-impact missions, while also engaging with U.S. and foreign government officials on policy frameworks for the international distribution and deployment of Anthropic's models. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of government partnerships from inception to completion, including setting agendas, structuring agreements, and integrating partner needs into Anthropic's policy, product, research, and safeguards decisions. Collaboration with public sector sales, legal, security, and threat intelligence teams will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagement with U.S. Intelligence Community elements and allied intelligence and security services.
  • Develop policies and governance for rapid, high-impact adoption of frontier AI and safe deployments.
  • Identify high-leverage national security deployments and support the public sector sales team.
  • Brief senior government security officials on frontier AI capabilities, risks, and safety approaches.
  • Engage government officials on national security implications of international AI model distribution and deployment.
  • Advise company leadership on partner equities in international AI distribution decisions.
  • Partner with federal affairs, international policy, communications, and marketing on national security matters.
  • Travel regularly within the U.S. and to allied countries.

Requirements

  • Substantial national security experience, including work in or with the Intelligence Community.
  • Direct experience managing relationships with foreign partner governments or services.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance, or held within the last two years, with ability to maintain it.
  • Experience negotiating formal agreements or partnerships between governments or government and industry.
  • Working understanding of intelligence organization operations, including classification, liaison relationships, and technology adoption.
  • Ability to brief senior policymakers clearly and explain technical subjects effectively.
  • Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams (technical, sales, policy, legal, security, product, research, communications).
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in a complex technical subject (ideally AI, defense technology, cybersecurity, or similar).
  • Ability to build structure in ambiguous environments and manage competing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation range: $295,000 - $345,000 USD
