About the job
Anthropic is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead Product Program Management, the central program management function in Anthropic's Product organization. This team turns the company's hardest cross-functional obligations into programs that run, unblocking growth and supporting scaled operations so partner teams can focus on building and selling Claude. You will lead managers and program managers across Commercialization Operations, Community and Executive Escalations Operations, and Marketplace Operations, and build a generalist program management bench to incubate new programs for the Product organization. The ideal candidate combines strategic judgment with the operational rigor to make programs run at scale.
Responsibilities
- Set the team's charter and priorities, deciding which cross-functional programs Product Program Management takes on and scales.
- Build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, GTM, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure programs reflect their priorities.
- Hire, lead, and develop managers and program managers across Commercialization Operations, Community and Executive Escalations Operations, and Marketplace Operations.
- Build a generalist program management team to incubate new cross-functional programs, run them until stable, and then mature them or shift ownership.
- Define success metrics for each program and report on them through regular business reviews with Product leadership.
- Provide coaching and feedback to direct reports and partner on their career development.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in program management, business operations, or a related field, ideally at a high-growth technology company.
- 5+ years of people management experience, including managing managers.
- Track record of building programs from 0 to 1 and scaling them into durable operations.
- Experience with commercial launches, billing and pricing operations, or marketplace and developer platform operations.
- Strong judgment and execution on prioritization, able to stack-rank competing asks and explain tradeoffs.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to replace manual operational work with tooling and automation.
- Excellent cross-functional influence with stakeholders who don't report to you, including executives.
- Clear, concise written communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action in a fast-moving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $365,000 - $365,000 USD
- Visa sponsorship available
- Hybrid work arrangement (at least 25% in office)
