The Corporate Network Engineering team is responsible for the company's global corporate network, including wired, wireless, and edge infrastructure. This role involves setting technical direction, owning architecture standards, and leading a small team of network engineers. The position requires a deep understanding of campus and edge networking, automation, and vendor management, with the ability to balance strategic decisions with hands-on problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Corporate Network Engineering team, including hiring, development, and prioritization.
- Set technical direction and own architecture standards for edge, campus switching, wireless, segmentation, out-of-band management, and telemetry.
- Manage reliability and operations, including monitoring, incident response, and an on-call model.
- Implement network-as-code practices for configuration, change control, and automation.
- Collaborate with Security Engineering on network authentication, segmentation, and detection.
- Deliver and upgrade networks for new and existing offices, coordinating with various internal teams and external partners.
- Manage vendor, carrier, and integrator relationships, including hardware budget and multi-year refresh cycles.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing, building, and operating enterprise campus and edge networks, with experience in multi-site environments.
- 5+ years of experience leading engineers, including at least 3 years as a people manager.
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to guide architectural decisions and design reviews.
- Experience with secure design principles and communicating trade-offs.
- Proven experience managing operational aspects of networks, including monitoring and incident response.
- Pragmatic approach to build vs. buy vs. automate decisions and vendor evaluations.
- Clear communication skills with engineers, executives, and external partners.
- Desire for technical ownership within a small team.
- Experience implementing certificate-based network authentication (802.1X/EAP-TLS) at scale.
- Experience shipping network configuration as code and building telemetry pipelines.
- Experience designing dense wireless for large event spaces.
- Experience managing integrators, MSPs, or smart-hands providers.
