Anthropic is establishing a Forward Deployed Engineering team to assist major organizations in adopting Claude for transformative, safe, and enduring applications. This team embeds with strategic clients to deploy production AI solutions addressing real business challenges. The Manager of Technical Deployment for Financial Services will oversee the health of engagement portfolios within this vertical, setting high standards for delivery quality and developing scalable playbooks and evaluation frameworks. This is a player-coach role requiring both technical credibility in architecture discussions and comfort in executive-level sales conversations, with the ability to lead complex engagements directly when necessary. The primary impact will be through hiring, developing, and leading a team of Technical Deployment Leads (TDLs), ensuring they uphold high standards for delivery judgment, technical fluency, and customer presence.
Responsibilities
- Hire, develop, and retain TDLs for Financial Services engagements, setting high standards for delivery and customer interaction.
- Manage TDLs directly through 1:1s, clear expectations, feedback, and growth plans to build a self-sufficient team.
- Oversee portfolio health across the Financial Services vertical, tracking engagement status and intervening when delivery deviates.
- Manage customer outcomes and executive relationships, running steering committees and representing Anthropic's credibility.
- Make staffing decisions for engagements, matching TDLs and engineers with customers.
- Lead the most complex engagements personally, from planning to production deployment.
- Establish standards for delivery excellence, including SOW quality, MVP scoping, and value measurement.
- Develop and codify reusable solution patterns, evaluation frameworks, and technical playbooks to enable practice scaling.
- Collaborate with Sales to qualify engagements, shape scope, and inform SOWs, and partner on go-to-market materials.
- Manage the team's operating rhythm, including reviews, knowledge sharing, and escalations, and report on team goals.
- Communicate field lessons and emerging use cases to Product and Research teams, and represent the vertical in leadership discussions.
- Uphold Anthropic's values and ensure TDLs are strong representatives of the company culture.
- Travel to customer sites as needed (25-50% expected).
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience leading enterprise AI/ML delivery, with at least 3 years managing people responsible for delivery outcomes.
- Proven track record of building and leading technical delivery teams in enterprise settings, preferably including embedded or forward-deployed teams.
- Experience delivering AI, ML, or LLM-based agentic solutions into production, with an understanding of solution patterns, integration, and real-world challenges.
- Deep expertise in Financial Services, including experience delivering technology programs within banks, insurers, or asset managers, and understanding of model risk, security, and compliance.
- Ability to engage in architecture discussions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and assess the feasibility of AI agent designs.
- Experience with value-based scoping, including TCO/ROI quantification and post-deployment impact measurement.
- Ability to bring structure to ambiguous situations and build teams or functions from an early stage.
- Executive presence with polished, credible, and concise communication skills for senior leaders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts.
