About the job

The Endpoint team, also known as Client Platform Engineering, is responsible for managing all laptops and handsets used by Anthropic employees, along with the underlying infrastructure. This team operates with a "configuration as code" philosophy, treating the device fleet as a distributed platform. Currently, the mobile device strategy is Bring Your Own Device (BYOD). This role is pivotal in transitioning to a corporate-issued mobile device program, encompassing managed company phones and Apple accounts across all Anthropic operating regions. You will be instrumental in designing and implementing this program from its initial concept through to full production, defining the standards and platform decisions for a corporate mobile presence at Anthropic.

Responsibilities

  • Design the corporate-issued mobile device program, including device standards, issuance policies, and program expansion strategy.
  • Manage global hardware logistics, including procurement, regional coverage, spare parts, and refresh cycles.
  • Integrate mobile configuration into the existing config-as-code pipeline for policy review, testing, and rollout.
  • Implement zero-touch enrollment for iOS (Apple Business Manager, ADE) and Android devices.
  • Oversee policy, compliance, and the full device lifecycle for the corporate fleet.
  • Develop telemetry for the corporate fleet to monitor device check-ins, OS/patch status, and state drift.
  • Manage corporate app distribution for mobile devices, from approval to updates.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Security on device posture, trust signals, and international travel devices.
  • Define and manage the coexistence strategy between corporate-issued devices and BYOD.

Requirements

  • Experience owning a global or multi-region mobile device program end-to-end for large-scale corporate fleets (8+ years).
  • Deep expertise in iOS device management, including enrollment, Apple Business Manager/ADE, APNs, certificate lifecycle, and declarative device management.
  • Experience with Android device management in a mixed fleet environment.
  • Proficiency in treating device configuration as code, moving beyond console-based management.
  • Experience running the infrastructure under an MDM (self-hosted, AWS, Terraform) rather than just administering a SaaS console.
  • Experience building or launching a corporate device program and managing its coexistence with BYOD.
  • Ability to excel at ambiguous problems involving multiple teams.
  • Strong communication skills for technical concepts across diverse audiences.
  • Applying product engineering rigor to IT Engineering.
  • Producing clear documentation as a standard part of the workflow.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation range: $285,000 - $325,000 USD
  • Hybrid work policy (at least 25% in office)
