Anthropic is seeking a senior Finance & Strategy leader to own the financial strategy for the Claude Platform (API). This role involves designing business models, pricing, and packaging for how developers and enterprises build with Claude. You will work closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to shape revenue, efficiency, and customer value. This is a finance role deeply integrated with product decisions, requiring expertise in consumption-based and infrastructure businesses, and comfort with complex pricing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own financial strategy for the Claude Platform (API), including pricing, packaging, discounting, and commercial terms across all channels.
- Design and launch new business models for the platform and new products, from initial concept through post-launch review.
- Set pricing for new product features, balancing adoption, capacity, and margin.
- Partner with infrastructure and inference teams to align pricing with cost to serve and capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with product leaders on roadmap priorities, launch sequencing, and business cases, providing financial insights.
- Present recommendations on pricing, investments, and tradeoffs to executive leadership with supporting analysis.
- Define and track metrics for pricing and business model effectiveness.
- Coordinate with FP&A, accounting, deal desk, and revenue operations for accurate forecasting, billing, and reporting.
- Mentor members of the Product Finance team and guide pricing analysis and communication.
Requirements
- Experience in strategic finance, product finance, or a related field, with ownership of pricing or business model decisions.
- Hands-on experience with consumption-based or usage-based business models, including pricing, packaging, and forecasting.
- Experience with infrastructure, cloud, or developer platform businesses, understanding compute costs and unit economics.
- Proven track record of designing and launching new pricing or business models.
- Experience partnering closely with product teams and translating financial analysis into product decisions.
- Advanced financial modeling skills in spreadsheets and proficiency in SQL for data analysis.
- Experience building business cases and presenting recommendations to executive leadership.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining financial tradeoffs to diverse audiences.
- Sound judgment in situations with incomplete data, with a willingness to adapt.
- Interest in AI and commitment to Anthropic's mission.
