Anthropic is seeking an experienced EU Policy Analyst to join its International Policy team. This role will focus on building relationships with external stakeholders and developing policy positions within the EU to advance AI policy and safety. You will engage with EU institutions, think tanks, academia, and other relevant parties, collaborating on projects such as analyzing policy proposals, mapping the policy landscape, drafting submissions, planning events, and building strategic campaigns. The position is crucial for shaping AI governance in the EU, balancing safety, innovation, and European competitiveness.
Responsibilities
- Support policy engagement with EU Commission, Parliament, agencies, and public sector partners on government policy and regulatory implications for frontier labs.
- Engage key policy stakeholders through briefings, consultations, demos, and roundtables, coordinating with the EMEA policy team.
- Analyze policy proposals and map the EU policy landscape to inform Anthropic's positions.
- Draft submissions for public comment and consultations.
- Plan events and build strategic campaigns to amplify Anthropic's policy presence.
- Cultivate relationships with key policy and political partners across the EU AI policy ecosystem.
- Partner with the EMEA GTM team to support commercial efforts.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of the EU's digital regulatory landscape, including EU AI and data policy.
- Professional experience working on EU digital policy.
- Ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into accessible information.
- Track record of effective and creative advocacy with EU governments and regulatory authorities.
- Experience in event planning and stakeholder management with strong organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- At least 5 years of professional experience working on EU digital policy (preferred).
- Experience within the EU institutions or the Brussels policy ecosystem (preferred).
- Experience drafting and executing complex policy campaigns (preferred).
- Clear interest in how EU AI and data policy can translate into wider global standards on AI safety and security (preferred).
