Anthropic is seeking a Discovery Technical Operations Specialist to join its Litigation and Regulatory team. This role is crucial for building and managing the company's discovery operations from the ground up, supporting active legal and regulatory matters, and advancing information governance. You will collaborate closely with legal counsel, external partners, and internal teams like Security and IT to handle the preservation, collection, and production of electronic data. The position also involves contributing to the development of Anthropic's broader information governance program, including data classification and defensible disposal practices, essential for a rapidly scaling AI company. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical operational skills and project management expertise.
Responsibilities
- Manage discovery operations throughout the EDRM lifecycle, including for novel and AI-specific data types.
- Support the legal hold program's design and execution, including custodian identification, tracking, and release.
- Maintain and enhance the discovery technology stack, including RelativityOne and collection tools for various platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate matter execution, status updates, and escalations.
- Partner with Security, IT, and product engineering to integrate new data sources into hold and collection processes.
- Improve and support the operational aspects of the information governance program, such as retention schedules and data inventory.
- Integrate AI and automation into the EDRM lifecycle, including generative AI for review and agentic workflows.
- Provide operational support for litigation, investigations, and regulatory inquiries, managing workstreams and vendor execution.
- Design and build internal tools to streamline discovery workflows and develop dashboards for data management trends.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with the full EDRM lifecycle, managing complex discovery operations in a legal setting.
- Proven track record of supporting complex discovery operations functions.
- Working knowledge of major discovery platforms like RelativityOne, including administration, analytics, and AI workflows.
- Strong understanding of discovery rules and ESI preservation obligations, with the ability to translate them into practical workflows.
- Experience managing discovery across modern data sources (Slack, Google Workspace, mobile, engineering systems) and integrating new data types.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent matters under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and operational concepts to diverse audiences.
