Anthropic is seeking a Director of Investor Relations to manage the company's engagement with investors and the financial community. This role involves building the investor engagement and investment narrative, informing investors about Anthropic's mission, strategy, financial performance, and competitive advantages. The ideal candidate will possess analytical rigor, a background in capital markets, and a keen interest in technology and AI developments. They will be responsible for understanding investor perspectives and the broader industry, providing strategic insights to leadership, and distilling complex financial and technical concepts into clear investor narratives. This position requires comfort operating autonomously and building new processes.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Investor Relations to shape the investor relations program's priorities and direction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and build strong relationships with the senior investment community.
- Draft and refine investor-facing communications regarding financial performance, strategy, and key initiatives.
- Represent Anthropic in investor meetings, addressing inquiries about the company's business and product suite.
- Advise leadership on investor sentiment, market expectations, and the potential reception of key decisions.
- Develop and manage investor targeting and outreach strategies based on shareholder base analysis.
- Track and brief leadership on AI and technology landscape developments and market perceptions of Anthropic.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives involving legal, finance, communications, and other departments.
- Prepare the executive team for investor conversations by anticipating questions, refining messages, and providing data.
- Contribute to building the systems, templates, and processes for a scalable investor relations function.
Requirements
- Experience in investor relations, equity research, investment banking, investing, or a comparable capital markets role.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex financial and strategic information into written materials for sophisticated audiences.
- Demonstrated judgment in handling confidential and market-sensitive information.
- Excellent written communication skills, capable of writing clearly for time-constrained readers with technical questions.
- Experience interacting directly with institutional investors, analysts, or executive teams.
- Ability to build and maintain financial models and translate financial statements into business insights.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A field of study relevant to the role demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.
