Anthropic is seeking a senior individual contributor to join its Finance Analytics & Business Intelligence team. This role will be responsible for defining how the company measures the value of its AI models and its market position. The work involves tackling open-ended, technical questions about model value per dollar and token, comparing performance against industry frontiers, and informing pricing and packaging decisions. The individual will act as an analytical lead, collaborating closely with Product Finance and Data Science teams to build robust measurement systems and provide data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve a cross-product benchmark system to measure model and product value across various task types.
- Create task-cost approximations and price-elasticity estimates to inform product pricing and packaging strategies.
- Conduct analytics for model launches, including revenue analysis and market landscape assessments.
- Integrate external datasets and research to enhance understanding of the market and its evolution.
- Partner with Product Finance to translate vague questions into actionable, decision-grade answers regarding pricing, packaging, and positioning.
- Present findings and narratives to executive leadership and elevate the team's product-finance analytics capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven ability to define measurement approaches for ambiguous problems without explicit direction.
- Experience influencing pricing, product, or competitive decisions through rigorous analysis presented to senior leaders.
- Proficiency in writing SQL and Python for data analysis and a willingness to ship defensible initial versions with acknowledged limitations.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a drive to explore problems beyond the initial scope.
- Ability to manage multiple fast-paced workstreams and adapt to changing priorities.
- Fluency with modern data tooling including SQL, Python, dbt, cloud data warehouses, and data visualization tools.
- Experience using AI tools like Claude to enhance analytical workflows.
