We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join our Beneficial Deployments team, with a specific focus on maximizing the impact of Claude within the life sciences sector. The primary objective is to significantly accelerate scientific progress across research and development through to translation. This involves establishing Claude as the essential tool for the life sciences ecosystem, from early academic discovery and biotech innovation to reimagining pharmaceutical pipelines, supported by robust technical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Partner deeply with life sciences research institutions to understand their scientific workflows, collaborate with their engineering teams, and transition projects from exploration to production systems.
- Develop reusable ecosystem infrastructure, including MCP servers for domain-specific data, instruments, scientifically-grounded benchmarks, and agent skills for broader adoption.
- Identify and address challenges in deploying AI within life sciences, such as data heterogeneity, auditability requirements, and the prototype-to-trust gap, and communicate these findings to product, engineering, and research teams.
- Create technical content and documentation to enable partners to self-serve and scale solutions globally.
Requirements
- Deep research experience in life sciences, biomedical research, or scientific computing, with a preference for expertise in genomics, neuroscience, or drug discovery.
- Experience building LLM-powered tools or applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, and evaluation frameworks.
- Proven ability to ship production code as a software engineer, forward-deployed engineer, or technical founder.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and taking initiative to drive the mission forward.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $280,000 - $320,000 USD
