As an Applied AI team member, you will serve as a Pre-Sales architect, acting as a trusted technical advisor for national security and defense agencies. Your role involves helping these agencies understand the value of Claude and envision its integration into their technology stacks. You will combine deep technical expertise with customer-facing skills to design innovative LLM solutions that address complex mission challenges while upholding high standards for safety and reliability. Working collaboratively with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams, you will guide customers from initial technical discovery through successful deployment, leveraging your expertise to explain Claude's capabilities, develop evaluations, and design scalable architectures.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account executives to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions, aligning business objectives with technical implementation.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor to enterprise customers throughout their Claude adoption journey, coordinating internally across teams and stakeholders.
- Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
- Create and deliver compelling technical content tailored to diverse audiences, from engineering deep dives to executive-level business value conversations.
- Guide technical architecture decisions and assist customers in integrating Claude effectively into their existing technology stack.
- Help customers develop evaluation frameworks to measure Claude's performance for specific use cases.
- Identify common integration patterns and contribute insights to Product and Engineering teams.
- Travel frequently to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building.
- Maintain strong knowledge of the latest developments in LLM capabilities and implementation patterns.
Requirements
- Requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
- Prior experience working with US national security (defense and/or intelligence) agencies.
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles (e.g., Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager).
- Experience navigating complex buying cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders (C-suite, engineering, IT).
- Strong technical communication skills, translating customer requirements between technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with Python.
- Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools or a background in machine learning or data science.
- Excitement for cross-organizational collaboration, working through trade-offs, and balancing competing priorities.
- A passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex topics clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for creatively using technology to advance safe and beneficial AI systems.
