Anduril Industries is a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. Our core Lattice platform integrates sensors to provide real-time situational awareness. As a Software Engineer on the ML Infrastructure team, you will develop the core systems and infrastructure that perception engineers use to field autonomous edge systems. This includes developing data management systems for perception and autonomy, model training/orchestration systems, and an internal perception platform for data querying, model training, and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate core model training and dataset management infrastructure.
- Improve perception engineer-facing tooling and SDKs.
- Integrate frontier models for data augmentation, curation, and synthetic data generation.
- Enable observability and traceability of the full ML lifecycle, including monitoring training jobs, storing evaluation reports, and managing the model registry.
- Engage with customers (business line engineering teams) to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in modern Python.
- Exposure to Rust/the Rust ↔ Python toolchain (PyO3, Maturin, etc).
- Experience with modern deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow or PyTorch.
- Experience with distributed training paradigms.
- Experience leveraging modern MLOps tooling for orchestration (Modal, Flyte, Airflow, Dagster, etc.).
- Experience with common ML observability platforms (Weights & Biases, MLFlow, etc).
- Familiarity with building and deploying backend services into a Kubernetes environment.
- U.S. Person status is required.
- Eligibility to obtain/maintain a US Top Secret clearance is desirable.
