About the job
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities with advanced technology. We are seeking Software Engineers to build the core Command and Control software for our Lattice platform, bridging the gap between hardware and human operators. This software runs on vehicles managing real-time telemetry and autopilot tasks, and on Ground Control Stations for mission planning, fleet management, and orchestrating autonomous behaviors. We are also pioneering the integration of GenAI agents for natural language control of autonomous assets. This is a highly autonomous role where you will build, ship, and see your code run on physical hardware deployed in the world.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement consensus protocols (Raft, CRDT, or others) for a fleet of autonomous vehicles to maintain shared truth over lossy, contested links.
- Build next-generation distributed teaming state, including replicated mission data, leader election, and conflict resolution across dozens of nodes without a guaranteed central authority.
- Support both strong consensus and eventual consistency based on real-world latency and partition constraints.
- Own the failure semantics for partitioned vehicles rejoining the team.
Requirements
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
- 3+ years of production-grade C++ and/or Rust experience in a Linux development environment.
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis.
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
- A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact.
- Travel up to 30% of time for building, testing, and deploying capabilities.
Benefits
- Highly competitive equity grants.
- Top-tier benefits package (available at little to no cost to employees) including health, recovery, etc.
