This internship focuses on building and deploying AI-powered tools, automating workflows, and implementing agentic systems for use by Scale AI teams. You will be embedded within the Data & Technology organization, collaborating directly with engineers, data scientists, and operations leads on live automation initiatives. The role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of current AI capabilities, a preference for hands-on building over theoretical exploration, and proficiency in modern LLM tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy multi-step agentic workflows using LLM-integrated frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
- Build API-connected automations to integrate internal tools such as Slack, Salesforce, and Notion.
- Prototype and iterate rapidly on functional AI solutions.
- Develop lightweight internal tools and dashboards to present AI outputs to business teams.
- Create functional UIs using technologies like React or plain JavaScript for internal adoption.
- Identify workflow friction points and propose AI-first solutions.
- Instrument work to capture usage signals, time-saved estimates, and adoption metrics.
- Contribute to the organization's ROI measurement framework by tagging projects to defined value categories.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and building real-world applications with them.
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript, with the ability to write production-quality code.
- Familiarity with at least one agentic or automation framework (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, n8n, Zapier + LLM).
- Strong product instincts, considering user needs and impact.
- Ability to iterate quickly and deliver results without compromising quality.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
