This role is crucial for building the lasting systems that enable safe handling of sensitive customer data. You will own anonymization layers and infrastructure that detects and transforms identifying information in data without compromising its usefulness, supporting the company's mission by curating trainable data from real-world corpuses. Responsibilities
- Build detection models for PII, PHI, and quasi-identifiers across various data types.
- Own the transformation layer, implementing redaction, masking, pseudonymization, tokenization, and format-preserving encryption.
- Ship the runtime adaptor, focusing on streaming inference, latency budgets, and fail-open/closed semantics.
- Build evaluation infrastructure using recall-weighted metrics and re-identification attacks.
- Develop anonymization policy as a configurable surface to accommodate diverse customer and jurisdictional requirements.
- Own high-impact systems from initial design through production deployment.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems.
- Experience building data pipelines at production scale, handling large data volumes.
- Applied NLP experience, including NER, sequence labeling, or information extraction on messy text.
- Experience with low-latency inference services, such as streaming pipelines, sidecars, or event systems.
- Ability to move quickly in a high-ownership, fast-changing environment.
