About the job

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI systems powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). Your role will span the entire AI lifecycle, from researching and fine-tuning foundation models to prompt engineering, system integration, and production deployment. You will focus on enhancing the performance, accuracy, and alignment of LLMs and AI systems, applying your engineering skills, knowledge of modern AI architectures, and passion for responsible AI to solve real-world challenges. You will also develop and integrate AI Systems into products and services, with expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing AI prompts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize AI prompts and applications powered by foundation models and LLMs.
  • Architect and implement generative agent systems using frameworks for multi-model coordination.
  • Develop application and component strategies, managing both user experience and backend systems.
  • Define, evaluate, and optimize AI system architectures using relevant frameworks and best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide guidance on enhancements and issue resolution, and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
  • Build and maintain scalable machine learning infrastructure, including distributed training pipelines and API integrations.
  • Apply advanced evaluation methodologies to ensure model robustness, safety, fairness, and minimize hallucinations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI systems with business objectives.
  • Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during testing and in production environments.
  • Document technical architecture, methodologies, and innovations for knowledge transfer.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and building resilient AI systems or products, including controls, guardrails, context engineering, Evals, CI/CD, tracing, logging, and unit testing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and creating AI solutions using patterns like RAG and handling data pipelines.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering teams with programming languages like Python, JavaScript, Java, or GoLang, and mastery of AI frameworks such as Autogen, LangGraph, or Semantic Kernel.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with public cloud application services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and their AI/GenAI capabilities, including platforms like Anthropic.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in AI Engineering building applications or products with a strong understanding of fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and performance optimization (token utilization, latency).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading a team or being part of team management, preferably in AI-driven projects.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (Associate's degree requires minimum 6 years' work experience).

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Bonus opportunities
