About the job
This role focuses on assisting with the data platform blueprint and design, encompassing relevant data platform components. The Data Platform Engineer will collaborate with Integration Architects and Data Architects to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models. The position involves understanding business requirements, data mappings, creating and maintaining data models through different stages using data modeling tools, and handing over physical design/DDL scripts for implementation. The role requires ensuring the performance and quality of deliverables, driving discussions with client teams to understand business needs, and developing data models that fit those requirements. It also includes driving discovery activities, design workshops, creating data modeling deliverables, and supporting solution blueprint development, scoping, and estimation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with data platform blueprint and design.
- Collaborate with architects for system and data model integration.
- Understand business requirements and data mappings.
- Create and maintain data models using data modeling tools.
- Hand over physical design/DDL scripts for implementation.
- Ensure performance and quality of deliverables.
- Drive discussions to understand business requirements and develop suitable data models.
- Conduct discovery activities and design workshops.
- Create and obtain sign-off for data modeling deliverables.
- Develop solution blueprints, scope projects, and provide estimations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 3 years of Data Modeling experience.
- Experience with Data Modeling Techniques and Methodologies.
- Experience in Dimensional Modeling, 3-NF modeling, or No-SQL DB modeling.
- Experience with Cloud DB Design.
- Experience in data transformation and analytic projects.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing (DWH).
- Instrumental in DB design through all stages of Data Modeling.
- Experience with at least one leading Data Modeling Tool (e.g., Erwin, ER Studio).
- Strong requirement analysis and technical solutioning skills in Data and Analytics.
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and develop oneself.
- Good client-facing and interpersonal skills.
- B.E. or B.Tech. degree required.
- 15 years of full-time education.
