About the job
Accenture is seeking an AI Native Software Engineer to join their Digital Core team, focusing on building production systems where AI is a core engineering capability. This role involves embedding deeply with enterprise clients to design, build, and run these systems, moving them from experimentation to operational reality. You will be an engineer who builds across the full stack, taking ownership of features from design through production, and leveraging AI tools daily to enhance your development workflow. The work emphasizes building robust, scalable AI-powered features and agent workflows within cloud-native platforms and automated delivery pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production features across front end, APIs, backend services, integration, and data, taking a feature end to end.
- Debug unfamiliar code and trace problems across application, data, and infrastructure boundaries.
- Develop, containerize, and deploy services on major cloud platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless technologies.
- Apply infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Helm) and ensure services are healthy, observable, and recoverable in production.
- Work within automated CI/CD pipelines, writing automated tests and resolving pipeline failures.
- Apply secure engineering practices throughout the development process.
- Design and implement data access layers for features across various data stores and platforms.
- Build retrieval and context layers for AI features, including knowledge sources, embeddings, and metadata.
- Integrate commercial and open models through APIs and enterprise AI platforms, utilizing tool calling and structured outputs.
- Build agent workflows with tools, memory, and human checkpoints, and write evaluations for their performance.
- Use AI-native development techniques for code generation, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation.
- Provide agents with necessary context, tools, and boundaries for safe execution of engineering tasks.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and production troubleshooting.
- Document learnings and contribute patterns, reusable components, and tooling to the internal AI-native engineering community.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience building production software.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience working across more than one layer of the stack (e.g., front end and API, or services and data).
- Minimum of 3 years of programming experience in at least one major language such as Java, Python, Go, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including building and deploying containerized services.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working within an automated CI/CD pipeline, including writing automated tests.
