Abridge is seeking a Staff IT Engineer to lead efficiency and scale across its corporate IT infrastructure and enterprise ecosystem. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions to streamline processes, enhance security, and improve the employee experience. The ideal candidate will possess deep engineering expertise, an IT product mindset for automation, and the ability to mentor junior team members. You will work closely with IT and Security leadership, architecting and enforcing automation standards within a HIPAA-compliant, SOC 2-audited environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable workflow automation for business processes like onboarding, offboarding, access requests, and IT support.
  • Integrate disparate systems by building robust connections using APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Automate Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructure, including role assignment and policy enforcement.
  • Architect and engineer data platforms for IT to collect, normalize, and store enterprise data for reporting and analytics.
  • Establish engineering best practices, lead code reviews, document architectures, and mentor engineers.
  • Manage the end-to-end deployment and lifecycle of business systems and custom applications.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in IT Engineering, IT Apps Development, or DevOps, with 5+ years in large-scale enterprise automation.
  • Deep hands-on experience automating operations and governance across GCP, AWS, and/or Azure.
  • Ability to build and modularize infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
  • Highly proficient in at least one modern programming language, with a strong preference for Python.
  • Proven experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and managing relational databases (SQL preferred).
  • Extensive experience designing and managing centralized automation platforms (e.g., n8n, SOAR, Ansible, Workato, or custom frameworks).
  • Experience operating in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, etc.) with exposure to SOC 2, HIPAA, or equivalent compliance frameworks.
  • Effective communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
