Abridge is seeking early-career Software Engineers passionate about making a real-world impact through AI in healthcare. You will join a cross-functional team of researchers, clinicians, and engineers to translate cutting-edge language model capabilities into dependable clinical systems. This role involves building AI-powered features that integrate into clinical workflows, shipping production code, and experiencing accelerated learning and career growth in an environment where Generative AI is central to product development. You will be given significant responsibility and autonomy, working alongside a team dedicated to achieving their best work.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to backend and frontend systems.
- Tackle a wide variety of challenges across different projects.
- Collaborate with ML, infrastructure, product, and clinical teams to understand user needs.
- Contribute to evaluation frameworks for accuracy, robustness, and clinical reliability.
- Develop and iterate on agentic LLM systems, including retrieval pipelines and tool use.
- Build and maintain monitoring and observability systems for LLM workflows.
- Prototype with new models, prompting techniques, and open-source orchestration tools.
- Learn from senior engineers and bring fresh perspectives to problems.
Requirements
- Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on GenAI experience through coursework, projects, internships, or hackathons.
- Experience integrating an LLM API, building a RAG pipeline, or experimenting with agents.
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration concepts like prompt chaining, tool use, and retrieval.
- Proficiency in using AI tooling for writing, debugging, and learning.
- Curiosity about model evaluation, failure modes, and LLM system reliability.
- Collaborative, low-ego mindset with a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
